Ukraine: "MALTEUROP Ukraine" officially launches 2 malting plants
MALTEUROP Ukraine, Ukrainian largest malt producer, announced on September 20 it will officially launch their 2 malthouses at the ribbon-cutting inauguration ceremony on the 26th of September 2005 in Chernigov and on the 27th in Kharkov.
MALTEUROP Ukraine has now reached 150 000 tons Malt Production a year. The company upgraded Chernigov malt house and its capacity doubled to 50,000 tons from 22,000 tons as a result of the upgrade.
The construction of Kharkov malthouse was done in two phases: the 1st was launched in August 2004, the second in May 2005 and its total capacity is 100,000 tons.
In 2006, the company is planning to produce totally 150,000 tons of malt and some 180,000 tons of western verities barley will be needed for this. The farms from Chernigov, Cherkassy, Kiev, Sumi, Poltava and Kharkov regions will supply the enterprises.
MALTEUROP Ukraine estimates its share of the Ukrainian market at between 38-39 percent.
